Devising an ecommerce strategy for a local retailer during Covid-19

The challenge

Badger Clothing has been a staple independent boutique in Brighton city centre for over 30 years. With a wide range of premium apparel brands, the shop has gone from strength to strength working solely from its hub in the central North Laine area of the city.

With the website mainly driving local customers to shop in-store, Covid-19 restrictions presented a need for Badger to focus on increasing online sales. Having worked with Badger over the years on its website and email marketing, Fox&Bear was trusted to devise a strategy to boost website sessions and transactions.

Advertising and email campaigns to launch UK-wide

Raising brand awareness of the store nationally was key, along with encouraging loyal customers to buy online or use the click and collect option.

We developed a paid media strategy and improved email marketing activity targeting both local and nationwide audiences. Starting off locally, our aim was to increase sessions to the site whilst maintaining local footfall; the ever-changing restrictions required a need for agility when reacting to the news and updating messaging.

Implementing this successful strategy has resulted in 170% increase in transactions and 238% increase in revenue online, whilst the physical store retains a loyal customer base and regular footfall.
