A strong digital marketing campaign to promote car parking in Worthing has been short-listed for a national award.

Hove-based, Cobb Digital and Worthing Borough Council are up against six other companies and local authorities in the public sector category of the UK Social Media Communications Award.

The company, run by managing director James Dempster, took gold in the awards last year.

The campaign highlighted the cheaper parking offer at some multi-storey car parks and encouraged motorists to change their parking habits and give it a try.

It proved successful and over the months has seen a steady increase in drivers using the car parks.

Worthing Borough Council leader Paul Yallop said: “It was a clever, well-planned campaign that promoted a cheaper car parking tariff to the people of Worthing and beyond. I am delighted that the work of the council and Cobb Digital has been recognised by being short-listed for this national award.”

James Dempster said he was delighted that the campaign had been recognised as one of the best in the UK and added: “We carry out social media campaigns like this for a number of clients in the south east. Cobb Digital has a great team on board delivering exceptional results on a regular basis.”
