Dr Anna Hemming started Thames Skin Clinic after decades of medical practice and 12 years of skin health and medical aesthetic training. She wanted a brand to reflect her expertise and whole person approach supporting people’s physical and mental health as well as weight management and anti-aging. Their location on the Thames was obviously the inspiration for their name so they wanted it incorporated into their brand.

Dr Hemming wanted a brand that appealed to both men and women, expressed her medical expertise and captured the water theme of the Thames name. It also needed to be warm and friendly. We brought all these elements together to come up with some broad brand ideas such as colours and logos.

With a logo, a colour scheme and an overall brand look to work from, we could refine the brand based on Dr Hemming’s preferences. We added fonts, imagery and layouts and picked out specific shades of colours to create the overall look representing calm, water and nature.
We made the website easy to navigate by having a menu for concerns and one for treatments. The whole website is laid out with lots of white space to make it very clear and we used videos, before and after images and FAQs to get all that information across in manageable chunks so people could quickly find what they were looking for.
Once we designed every element of the website and Dr Hemming approved it, we built the site and optimised it to rank well on search engines. We use a WordPress CMS with a bespoke front end so our clients get a custom designed website that is easy for them to edit and add to when desired.
Launching the brand involves making the website live and making all social media channels consistent with the branding. When all this was done, we advised on how they could market themselves to get maximum exposure for their new brand with social media, SEO, Google Ads and printed material.
After serving as a GP in Buckingham Palace, Dr Hemming went on to become a skin health and aesthetic procedures expert and founded the Thames Skin Clinic. They offer science-based doctor-lead treatments for skin health and rejuvenation. Based in Twickenham, their clinic offers highly effective treatments for a range of skin issues from acne to excessive sweating.
As medical professionals with such extensive experience, they wanted a brand that reflected who they were and what they could offer so it needed to be very clear, calm and professional.
Having the right logo was really important to get this brand’s message across so we took the idea of water invoked by their name to create the feeling of calm and flowing with a repeated pattern. We used overlapping circles to represent connection and harmony with a circle in the middle to represent the way Thames Skin Clinic centres its patients. Circles also invoke a sense of movement and enhancement as they have no beginning or end.
Thames Skin Clinic’s website was designed to be as clear and easy to use as possible. Not only did we use the blue, taupe and white colour scheme to give the impression of water, nature and calm, we used a simple layout and an easy to navigate menu bar to make it easy for users to find information. We used imagery, video, before and after photos and FAQs to make the clinic’s extensive range of treatments easy to understand and simple for users to access.
